Daupo was born David Clayton James Gassaway in Mansfield, Ohio. He puttered around that fine state for fully twenty-one years,
with quality time spent in Lorain and Oberlin as well. Thereafter he has mostly lived in New York City,
with visits to shacks large and small across the US and the world. In addition to making art, he has kept bees,
acted, taught art and other things, invented useless stuff, recorded audio books, decorated Macy's, cooked omelettes,
grown tomatoes, written a children's book, written quizzes, copyedited books, brewed mead, and generally mucked about.
He is pleased to have collaborated with a number of talented people and institutions, some of which are linked to below.
He is currently thirty-four and a Brooklyn resident who is really displeased with society.
We at daupo.com would love to hear from you. Tell us what you thought,
what you didn't think, what you loved and hated, and whether you won the game.
When you're ready to tell it all, or just a little, employ either of these
contemporary media:
digital: email daupo,
or
digital: (347) 220-5848.
Drop us a line, we wonder who's out there sometimes.
Here are some people and institutions that daupo respects, admires, has worked with, owes money to, or several of the above:
WFMU, the world's only radio station.
Flux Factory, a source of madness and collaboration.
Radical Society, a journal about thinking things, by thinking things.
Roleplay On-Line, yes, I am a geek.
the Hulk's blog, it's the only one we read.
the Frogs, the best band alive.
the Flaming Fire bible project, the last word on the Bible.
Autonomedia, purveyors of difficult truths.
Chashama, a deeply funky NYC artspace.
